Gwent and South Powys GP Training Scheme

Who to contact if you have a problem

If you have a problem or query with your training in ST2 please contact either Sarah Still at the Friar's, RGH or Sasha in the first instance (see contact page for email and phone numbers).

HDR programme and ST1+2 study days

The ST2s have a separate HDR programme which is for ST2s in their GP placement. We will be looking in detail at the consultation during HDR. We will cover consultation models and  communications skills,  and learn from video analysis and group work. We also plan to offer some chronic disease management during the ST2 programme. The programme will be flexible, according to your learning needs, so please do feedback if there is anything you would especially like to be covered.

Half day release sessions start at 2pm, please be prompt. A sandwich lunch is provided from 1.30pm. Finish time is 5pm. If you cannot attend a session, please let us know.

All ST2s will be expected to attend induction and all the ST1+2 study days (highlighted below in yellow), so please remember to tell your trainer or consultant that you will be out of the practice/hospital for the whole day on these occassions. Lunches are provided.

OOH sessions

After each session, you will need to fill in an OOH sheet, which you can get here:

http;//gp.cardiff.ac.uk/downloads.php?file_id=542

Gwent OOH

Contact Roma Morris or Pat Richardson on 01633 488700 to organise your on-line booking account and Adastra Setup.

Please book your sessions via the website at:

http://gwent.oohbookings.com

If you did not attend OOH induction, you will need to attend a training session. Please let the PD's know and we will put you in touch with the correct person to arrange this.

You must complete your OOH by mid May so that you can pass the ARCP panel, so please book your places as soon as possible.

Shropdoc OOH at Brecon

You may also do some out of hours sessions at the Shropdoc base at Brecon War Memorial Hospital.

To book sessions contact Edward Davies by email:

oohbookings@shropdoc.nhs.uk

and he will advise on the availability of sessions with clinical supervisors.

If you have completed OOH induction training for Gwent you will not need to undertake additional induction training to gain experience of OOH in Brecon.
